Résumé and LinkedIn: It’s easy to let our basic information fall out of date. As you begin to contemplate a career shift, take a hard look at your résumé. Does it reflect your current role? Is it the best example of everything you’ve accomplished? Consider the document from the perspective of a board member or CEO looking for a top CMO. Look for ways to concretely demonstrate growth, innovation, and successful campaigns. Update your LinkedIn position and any other digital platforms to reflect the latest data.

Assess your brand: Another component of making a job move is assessing your brand. As a CMO, this boils down to one elemental factor: Who are you and where are you headed? There are three quick-win areas that you can focus on around your brand:
